For more than 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of building a career around communications, community and people.
Since 1994, my work has taken me across the public, private and community sectors, leading communications, public affairs, media relations, community engagement, marketing and major events throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond. Along the way, I’ve built a diverse portfolio with particular experience in defence, First Nations and Indigenous engagement, natural resources, tourism, infrastructure and major projects.
At the heart of it all has always been relationships.
I believe the best work happens when you take the time to listen, understand the landscape and bring the right people together. That approach has allowed me to work alongside governments, First Nations, community organizations, industry leaders and some pretty incredible people—often on projects that are complex, highly visible or deeply meaningful to the communities involved.
A career built on connection
Over the years, my work has included advising the Assembly of First Nations regionally, representing the Belgian Government in Canada, supporting major regional initiatives and events, and helping organizations navigate everything from significant announcements and public conversations to long-term community and infrastructure projects. My work has helped bring national and international attention to issues and opportunities important to Atlantic Canada, while strengthening the relationships that make progress possible.
Today, that same commitment extends well beyond my client work. I serve as Honorary Colonel of the Halifax Rifles and Chair of the Nova Scotia Canadian Forces Liaison Council, and sit on the Honorary Colonel Advisory Council to the Chief of the Defence Staff. I also serve on the Board of Governors of the Army Museum Halifax Citadel, and remain actively involved in Indigenous and community initiatives through my work with the Millbrook First Nation Economic Development Corporation and the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre’s Wije’winen Centre development.
I’ve been fortunate to receive a number of honours along the way, including the Commissionaires Distinguished Service Medal, Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, King Charles III Coronation Medal and the Mount Saint Vincent University Alumni Achievement Award for Community Service. Each reflects something I care deeply about: community, service and showing up for the people and places around me.
After three decades, I still believe communications comes down to something pretty simple: listen well, build trust, connect people and use your experience to help good work move forward.
